Filestage and Ziflow alternatives for Shopify brands

Filestage and Ziflow are good at what they do: markup, versions and approvals on creative files. Many Shopify founders find them while looking for a way to stop off brand ads. Here is when they fit, and what else to look at.

Updated 4 Nov 2026. Facts and prices checked against the sources below on that date.

    Short answer

If you need file proofing with clients or a creative team, Filestage and Ziflow are solid and both have free tiers, with paid plans from 199 a month. If you are a small Shopify brand that mainly needs to see ads, pages and emails together and approve them, a lighter or more Shopify specific tool may fit better.

When Filestage or Ziflow is the right call

    • You work with outside clients who need to sign off on files.
    • You review many file types: video, PDFs, packaging, print.
    • You need version history, due dates and several approval stages.
    • Several reviewers need to mark up the same frame.

When a Shopify brand needs something else

    • Most of your review is about fit, not pixels: does the ad match the page and the email?
    • The work comes from AI tools as well as people, and lands in many places.
    • You are a team of one to ten and 199 a month is a lot for proofing alone.
    • You want the live store and the draft side by side, not a file in isolation.

Questions to ask before you choose

    • Do I review files, or do I review what customers see across channels?
    • Who approves? Outside clients, or me and one or two people?
    • Where do drafts come from? Designers, agencies, AI, or all three?
    • Does it connect to Shopify, Meta and Klaviyo, or will I upload exports by hand?

    Our honest view

    Key point

brands.menu is not a proofing tool and will not replace frame by frame video markup. If that is your job, use Filestage or Ziflow. If your job is keeping a Shopify brand consistent while AI and freelancers ship work, start with a view of everything that is live.
